About this gin

Introducing 3 Wrens Bison Grass Edition, infused with the legendary sweet grass that goes by the official name of ‘Hierochloe Odorata’. If you haven’t experienced the taste and aroma of this botanical, it is absolutely stunning, you need to try it now. The gin has notes of fresh hay, lime and lemongrass, supported by a strong backbone of Juniper. 😊

How is it made? ⬇️⬇️⬇️

We’ve been secretly growing ‘Bison Grass’ at our Cheshire distillery since spring, and if you pop by, you can now see it overflowing in our wooden planters. 🌱

We’ve grown it from seed, it is 100% organic and has been carefully tended to from day one by Nick, our distiller, before being harvested, dried and distilled. We have propagated and re-planted the grass as we go, to ensure 100% self sufficiency going forward 🚜

The grass is vapour infused and distilled with rich Tuscan juniper berries, home-grown apple mint, lemon thyme, fresh lime, grains of paradise and 5 other carefully chosen botanicals. The sweet grass is then macerated in the finished gin slowly, imparting more of the flavour, before the finished spirit is filtered and bottled at 41.5% abv.

The gin has aromas of fresh hay and lime on the nose, a rich and satisfying hit of juniper on the palate and a long, smooth, herbaceous finish.

Serving suggestion

Classic or elderflower tonic and a slice of fresh apple

Serve with cloudy apple juice and a squeeze of lime in a twist on the classic Tatanka cocktail 😊

Bison Grass

Full of flavour and texture. First purchased for our anniversary together. We recommend to have it with Fever Tree tonic. So good, just ordered 2 more bottles for us to enjoy over the next month ish, well sooner i think.

The best

An exceptionally subtle and delicately flavoured gin. It's become an instant favourite here, almost to the point of being a 'special occasions' reserve (but not quite - it's too nice).
