Forest Floor Bramble
Serves: 1
Ingredients
- 50ml Three Wrens Bison Grass Gin
- 15ml Blackberry liqueur (e.g. crème de mûre)
- 20ml Fresh lemon juice
- 10ml Sugar syrup (1:1 ratio sugar to water)
- 2 dashes Celery bitters (optional, but adds an earthy depth)
- Fresh blackberries (3-4)
- A small sprig of rosemary (for garnish)
- Crushed ice
Step-by-Step
- Muddle the berries:
In the base of a cocktail shaker, gently muddle the fresh blackberries to release their juice. - Build the cocktail:
Add the Three Wrens Bison Grass Gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup, and celery bitters (if using) to the shaker. - Shake it down:
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until nicely chilled. - Prepare your glass:
Fill a rocks glass (or a short tumbler) with crushed ice, right to the brim. - Strain:
Fine strain the cocktail over the crushed ice in the glass. - Add the liqueur:
Slowly drizzle the blackberry liqueur over the top – it will trickle through the crushed ice like forest undergrowth, creating that classic “bramble” effect. - Garnish:
Garnish with a couple of fresh blackberries and a sprig of rosemary. For extra forest magic, gently slap the rosemary between your hands before placing it in the drink – this releases its oils and aroma.
