Strawberry Basil Martini

Ingredients

  • 50ml Three Wrens Strawberry & Basil Gin
  • 15ml Elderflower liqueur (e.g., St-Germain)
  • 15ml Fresh lemon juice (about half a lemon)
  • 10ml Simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 2-3 Fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 2-3 Fresh basil leaves (plus extra for garnish)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: Cracked black pepper (for garnish, adds a nice kick!)

Step-by-Step

  1. Muddle the fruit & herbs
    In a cocktail shaker, gently muddle the strawberries and basil leaves together to release their juices and aroma. Don’t overdo it — just enough to break them down.
  2. Add the liquids
    Pour in the Three Wrens Strawberry & Basil Gin, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
  3. Shake it up
    Add a generous handful of ice. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
  4. Strain & serve
    Double strain (through a fine mesh strainer) into a chilled martini or coupe glass to remove the pulp and basil bits.
  5. Garnish
    Garnish with a small basil leaf floating on top, and if you’re feeling adventurous, a tiny crack of black pepper over the top enhances the basil and adds a unique twist.
