  • 15ml Banana liqueur (such as Giffard Banane du Brésil)
  • 10ml Sugar syrup (or adjust to taste)
  • Optional: a small piece of fresh banana (if blending)
  • Garnish: Banana chip, grated nutmeg, or a lime wheel
  • Ice

Step-by-Step

(Shaken version):

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker – rum, banana liqueur, lime juice, and sugar syrup.
  2. Add ice and shake well – for about 15 seconds until chilled.
  3. Fine strain into a chilled coupe glass – for a smooth, short serve.
  4. Garnish – with a banana chip on the rim, a dusting of nutmeg, or a lime wheel.

(Frozen version):

  1. Add all ingredients plus a handful of crushed ice and a small piece of banana to a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and pour into a coupe or short glass.
  3. Garnish the same way – banana chip or nutmeg works well.
