Chester Cathedral Bespoke Gin
One of our favourite projects was creating a bespoke gin for Chester Cathedral. They wanted something that reflected the beauty and calm of their historic building and gardens, and we loved the challenge. We worked closely with their team to choose botanicals that told their story, then distilled a smooth, elegant gin that feels just as special as the place itself. It’s more than just a drink – every bottle supports the cathedral’s preservation work, too. This collaboration shows how a custom spirit can capture the heart of a place and become part of its story.
Combermere Abbey Bespoke Gin
One of our most exciting projects was creating a bespoke gin for the beautiful Combermere Abbey. Surrounded by centuries of history and breathtaking gardens, the estate offered endless inspiration. Working closely with their team, we crafted a classic English gin slowly distilled with rich Tuscan juniper, pink grapefruit peel, Angelica, and Elderflower handpicked from the estate gardens. Each botanical was carefully chosen to reflect the elegance and natural beauty of Combermere. The result is a smooth, refreshing gin that truly captures the spirit of the place – more than just a drink, it’s a story bottled for everyone to enjoy.

Simple, Straightforward Process
- Your Signature Blend – We’ll start with a call to discuss your ideas and options. You’re also welcome to visit our distillery, where you can explore over 100 unique botanicals. Once we understand what you’re after, we’ll create a sample gin for you to try and approve.
- Design Your Bottle – We’ll help you choose from a range of bottles, and you can take the lead on the label design. We’ll provide a template with all the legal info you need, and we’ll take care of the duty stamps.
- Let’s Get Bottling – Our copper pot still, ‘Valerie’, produces small 50-litre batches, so your first order is just 75 bottles. Turnaround is fast too: we can make and deliver your gin within 5 working days. Plus, we offer flexible payment options to keep things easy.

We’re not just a distillery, we’re your creative partner. Everything we make is small batch, handcrafted, and made right here in Cheshire. Whether you need 60 bottles or 600, we treat every project with the same care.What Licences Do You Need?
Only gifting? If you're planning to use your gin for gifting only — say for clients, team rewards, or events — you won’t need a licence. That said, you absolutely can’t sell it under any circumstances. Selling direct to consumers? You’ll need a premises licence, even if you’re only planning to sell online. We’ll need to see a copy of this licence before we can supply your gin. Selling to other businesses? To wholesale your gin to other businesses, you’ll need an Alcohol Wholesaler Registration Scheme (AWRS) number. This part’s non-negotiable. We’ll ask you to sign a legal agreement confirming that you won’t wholesale unless you’ve sent us valid proof — and yes, we’ll be checking. We don’t provide licensing advice, so you’ll need to do your own research and applications.Who Pays the Duty?
We do. We handle the alcohol duty through our W1 and W5 HMRC returns every month. Your gin is always supplied duty paid, and we’re happy to share those HMRC returns if you’d like to see them.
